THE BRIEF

Brand a business in the hospitality sector, using an existing commercial site in a city of your choosing as the inspiration.

THE SOLUTION

The Third Room aims to break the mould of minimalist cafe interiors, offer healthy food at a fair price and become the go-to hub for the local demographic of students, families and young professionals. The funky, retro-inspired interiors will draw in customers visually but also cater to their appetites. Whether youre catching up with a friend over coffee, Sunday brunching with the family or working remotely, The Third Room is the place for you.

The local area is surrounded by furniture shops, a few restaurants and residential housing. The area is fairly affluent and made up of families, young professionals and students so we wanted to create a space that was inviting for each of these groups, yet pull in a wider customer base due to the unique interiors. Think of Sketch in London but for a smaller scale, frequent regulars with a more day-to-day feel.

Bristol is well-known for its creativity, terraces of colourful houses, street art and its rebellious attitude so it was important for the brand to echo aspects of this. Inspiration was drawn from retro diners, Miamis art deco buildings, Bristols creative spirit and the commercial sites history a former silversmith. The Third Room is positioned as a friendly, youthful and distinctive brand a vibrant new addition to an area of Bristol that is a little more buttoned-up.
